Grand reopening marks a new chapter for the Sugar Land community following a comprehensive renovation and operational revamp.

SUGAR LAND, TX — Cima Senior Living celebrated the grand reopening of The Reserve at First Colony on February 26, marking a new chapter for the Sugar Land community following a comprehensive renovation and transition to new ownership. Residents, families, local professionals, and community leaders gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tours of the newly transformed property, which underwent a full high-end interior renovation across its Assisted Living and Memory Care residences.

Cima Senior Living Founder and CEO Jonathan Judd addresses residents, families, and community leaders during the grand reopening ceremony.
“The transformation of The Reserve at First Colony reflects our broader strategy at Cima,” said Jonathan Judd, Founder and CEO of Cima Senior Living and Cima Investment Group, the parent company of Cima Senior Living. “Identifying strong communities and investing the resources needed to elevate both the resident experience and long-term operational performance is key. We aim for the best in class in all that we do.”
The investment reflects Cima Senior Living’s continued focus on revitalizing senior living communities through thoughtful design, enhanced hospitality environments, and the integration of advanced safety technologies. The renovation included a complete aesthetic transformation throughout the community, featuring:
Fresh interior and exterior paint
Newly installed designer flooring and carpet
Updated LED lighting & new chandeliers throughout
Upgrading life safety systems including a new fire panel
Elevated common area cabinetry, counter tops and tile
Reimagined dining areas and common gathering spaces
Modern furniture, artwork, smart TV’s and refreshed interior design
Enhanced living environments for Assisted Living and Memory Care residents
As part of the renovation, the community also implemented CareLife AI fall detection technology, providing proactive monitoring designed to enhance resident safety throughout the community. The system offers 24/7 monitoring capabilities that help staff respond quickly to potential fall risks, an innovation currently utilized by fewer than 3% of senior living communities nationwide.
With the senior population expanding rapidly across the Houston metropolitan region and Fort Bend County, families are increasingly seeking senior living communities that combine personalized care, modern design, and enhanced safety features. Cima Senior Living’s investment in The Reserve at First Colony reflects that shift, bringing updated interiors, improved amenities, and advanced wellness technology to one of Sugar Land’s established senior living communities.
“We are proud to reintroduce this beautifully refreshed community to Sugar Land,” said Cathy Stafford, Sales Director at The Reserve at First Colony. “Our renovations reflect our commitment to creating a warm, welcoming home where residents feel supported, connected, and able to thrive.”
